your first clue that it isn't real is that, in reality, the sun and moon occupy roughly the same amount of the sky... that is, the full moon appears to be almost exactly the same size as the sun. just one of those cool coincidences.

The original artist is Inga Neilson using Terragen Software. She has a web site of a number of surreal landscape themed images, many with outsized moons.
